MEMORY PORTAL

Space intervention 2023. Parc Montsouris, Paris, France.

Space intervention, Luster paper 270gr on mirror (120x100 cm)

"Memory Portal" is an installation that bridges the gap between my current place of residence and the cherished memories of my hometown. This project is a personal exploration of the power of nostalgia and the way in which physical spaces can serve as conduits for emotional connection.

Using a 120 x 60 cm mirror as a canvas to hold the vivid imagery of a park in Mexico City, "Parque México." transformed into a canvas that reflects not just my image, but also the imagery of a park in Mexico City, This space from my past is superimposed upon a park in Paris, "Parc Montsouris," where I now reside. Through this merging of places and times, I aim to create a visual dialogue that transcends geographical boundaries and temporal constraints.

This installation invites viewers to step through the looking glass and into a world where memories are rekindled and the boundaries between past and present blur.

In the symphony of memory, specific stimuli are the notes that trigger memories, turning simple moments into portals that transport us to the past.
